For many years the orthopedic mattress was matched to the concept of “hard mattress”, or to be more technical to “stiff mattress”.
The doctors for years have advised patients suffering from back pain a hard mattress: this meant that the orthopedic mattress was associated in the collective imagination to the mattress with high stiffness.
Over the years the term “orthopedic mattress” has been reassessed and reconsidered by assigning a different value.

The orthopedic mattress is designed to properly support the spine, joints and body.

The main feature of an orthopedic is the reduction of the pressure zones on the back, with consequent improvement of the rest by whose who suffer from back pain.
This reduction occurs trough multiple zones with different stiffness, as show in the figure above, that allow to sleep in a “ergonomically correct” position and avoid inappropriate pressures.

Be aware that it not depends on the materials with which the mattress is made up, an orthopedic mattress may consist of many different materials:

- Polyurethane;
- Springs;
- etc…

- Choose the type of mattress tested for a few minutes that gives you more comfort and well-being and creates less compression zones.
